SUMMARY 

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Manager supports the company’s financial needs by managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations and preparing financial reports, trend analysis reports, budget analysis and assisting in forecasts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, banking, payroll processing, contract billing, purchase orders, collections, expense reporting
  • Monthly close activities, including monthly accruals, deferrals, and review of proper recording and classification of transactions
  • Complete reconciliations on monthly revenue and all balance sheet accounts in preparation of monthly reports for internal management
  • Complete budget variance analysis, revenue and expense trend reporting, cash flow analysis, segment reporting and board reports
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Assess and evaluate systems to streamline processes
  • Assist with annual budget preparation process and firm knowledge of costs budgeted
  • Participate in monthly financial reviews with management
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years overseeing all accounting activities
  • Strong financial and accounting skills required
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and data extraction and reporting required
  • Advanced Excel skills with daily experience with pivot tables, vlookups, complex formulas, and database queries, with exceptional analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment & to be a team player
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented & achievement-oriented
  • Self-starter, able to handle multiple demands & competing priorities
  • Ability to effectively present findings to management in a clear and concise manner
  • Positive attitude

WORK SHIFT DEMANDS: 

This a full-time position Monday through Friday. Business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, hours worked can be flexible within reason. Ability to work from home periodically. Business casual, standard office work environment.
