SUBSENTIO ACQUIRES LAWFUL INTERCEPT BUSINESS FROM NEUSTAR

Deal Propels Subsentio to Leadership of U.S. CALEA Compliance Market

WASHINGTON, D.C., JUNE 5, 2015 — Subsentio, the CALEA Compliance CompanyTM, today acquired the lawful intercept assets from Neustar, Inc. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, the customers of compliance mandated services under the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA), as well as subpoena management and other requirements of U.S. national security and privacy laws, are now fully managed by Subsentio.

With this move, Subsentio more than doubles its customer base, support staff and revenue as the largest CALEA Trusted Third Party service bureau in North America. The company has opened new offices in Northern Virginia, both to service new and existing clients and to ensure close proximity to the headquarters of federal law enforcement and national policymaking on matters of lawful surveillance.

“Subsentio welcomes our new clients, who will benefit immediately from our dedication to delivering complete, end-to-end CALEA compliance solutions,” said Subsentio President and CEO Steve Bock. “The Subsentio service bureau is unique in the industry, providing superior technology, hands-on legal expertise, and professional law enforcement liaison – reliably and cost-effectively.”

Marcus Thomas, Subsentio CTO and former Assistant Director and head of the Operational Technology Division for the FBI said: “Subsentio continues to evolve our range of solutions to embrace the lawful intercept needs of every facet of communications, from wireless to wireline, broadband, VoIP, and cloud, within the framework of privacy protection set forth by CALEA. We’re not just selling technology – we provide ‘peace of mind’ to many of the nation’s largest service providers, who trust Subsentio’s reputation and record of performance to ensure they meet all requirements of the law, safely and reliably.”

Subsentio® Launches New Mediation Device Interoperable with Sonus Session Border Controllers

Subsentio Announces Customer Win with Large National IP Voice Interconnection Player

DENVER, APRIL 16, 2015 – Subsentio, the CALEA Compliance Company™, today announced the debut of the Subsentio Safe Harbor Mediator™, a high capacity active lawful intercept solution. Subsentio collaborated with Sonus, a global leader in enabling and securing real-time communications, to ensure interoperability between the Subsentio Safe Harbor Mediator and the full line of Sonus Session Border Controllers (SBCs) to enable Service Providers (SPs) and Internet service providers (ISPs) to meet their lawful intercept requirements in a secure, cost-effective and reliable manner. Subsentio also announced its first customer for the new mediation device — a major national Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Interconnection company based in Chicago.

Advancements in technology and sophisticated communication channels have made it increasingly difficult to police the growing amount of criminal, cyber-based attacks. In the effort to halt these crimes, the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) permits a law enforcement agency (LEA) to conduct court-ordered lawful intercept. To facilitate the lawful intercept process, SPs and ISPs must design their networks to explicitly support authorized electronic surveillance.

Subsentio and Sonus enable SPs and ISPs to meet this compliance by implementing the Subsentio Safe Harbor Mediator into their network, connected to Sonus SBCs. The Safe Harbor Mediator collects and delivers court-ordered data quickly, reliably and economically to the designated LEA, protecting national security and public safety.

Subsentio’s new device is the latest addition to the company’s product line, inclusive of the Safe Harbor Probe, an out-of-line, passive device that can be installed anywhere in a customer’s network where intercept data is available.

“We are very pleased to work with Sonus and welcome our new customer to the growing family of Subsentio clients,” said Steve Bock, President of Subsentio. “Our collaboration with Sonus and the launch of the Subsentio Safe Harbor Mediator are major milestones for us and the industry, marking rapid evolution toward our unique CALEA Service Bureau model.”

New Subsentio Safe Harbor CloudTM Cuts CAPEX and Operating Costs of CALEA Compliance for Any Communications Service Provider

DENVER, MARCH 9, 2015 — Subsentio, the CALEA Compliance Company, today launched Subsentio Safe Harbor CloudTM, a new alternative in lawful intercept that cuts communications service providers’ costs of complying with U.S. surveillance laws.

The Subsentio Safe Harbor CloudTM delivers the capabilities required by the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) with the benefits of cloud communications: reduced capital expenditures and operating costs.

The Subsentio Safe Harbor CloudTM is currently being tested for a large national fiber optic “network of networks” spanning local and regional broadband carriers in 20 states. Any member of this network now can meet its CALEA compliance requirements via a simple VPN connection to a single Subsentio Safe Harbor 1 Gb ProbeTM or Subsentio Safe Harbor 10 Gb ProbeTM operating in the cloud.

“The Subsentio Safe Harbor Cloud is the front line of a movement that will revolutionize lawful surveillance,” said Martin McDermott, Subsentio EVP of Marketing and Customer Care. “Our cloud service lets service providers comply with CALEA easily and at the lowest possible cost.”

All Subsentio clients benefit from Subsentio’s service bureau, which delivers three essential components of CALEA compliance: market-leading technology, hands-on court order management, and expert coordination with law enforcement agencies by a Subsentio team that includes former law enforcement agents.
